Have you asked yourself lately; what is the main point of your life? What is your goal? I know you think, “I’m too old to have a goal at this time. I just need to get through one day at a time.”
Well, it doesn’t have to be that way! I’m sure you’ve heard that old saying, “You’re never too old.” Well, there is some truth to that. And to the other one, “You’re only as old as you feel!”
True, the way you feel often leads the way your day goes – and your life!
When you have a problem, you find a way to overcome your difficulty. So-o-o – why not look at your life and your problem area and find a way to overcome the dark spots of your existence.
Look at your current life style and think of what you would like to change. Check out ways you could accomplish the change you would like and start your action plan. Just like planning for a vacation 00 the first step is money. OK, if you save $20.00 a week, at the end of the month you’d have $80.00 to $100.00 saved. In one year you would have very close to $1000.00 for a nice vacation, or to purchase something you would like.
Start a piggy bank and when you get change from shopping, ask for quarters. Then put them in your bank. You’d be surprised how fast they will add up.
When I was working, I’d throw my change (all types) into a jar. When I had $50-60 plus, I’d take it and catch a bus ride to Laughlin, just to get away. The ride was $5.00 and I’d get a free buffet dinner and some free plays sponsored by the casinos. I’d spend what I took only, and had my get-away time without feeling the pinch in my pocketbook.
There are other things you could do besides this. But the more you save, the more choices you’ll have. This was just one idea.
Volunteering – teaching – parenting – etc. The choice is yours. And what you do with it is up to you.
Your rule in your choice and your life – again – it’s what you do with it.
