We as a class were invited to an afternoon tea party by Sherri and Laura jointly. It was held at Laura’s house. We arrived and were greeted by both our hostesses and ushered into the house. The table was all set up with a tablecloth and beautiful china (Laura’s grandmother’s china). There were plates, cups, and saucers with lovely designs and colors. They were very delicate being bone china. The table was laden with fruits, cakes, cookies and tiny sandwiches with more on the sideboard…cinnamon buns, more cookies, etc. On the tea we were given a choice. There was raspberry, English tea, etc. There was such a variety; it was hard to decide.
Now, there was discussion about the class and all different subjects but the star of the party was the real china . It brought back memories of my younger days when I was growing up and my mother would entertain her friends and also holiday when the good china was brought out. It was a wonderful afternoon which ended all too soon.
Thank you Sherri and Laura for bringing back happy memories.
