I had a lovely Mother’s Day this year. It was a day filled with love and kindness, calls and caring – just as I am sure was envisioned 100 years ago when Mother’s Day became a reality.
The day started with a lovely breakfast, balloon and cards from my husband. His poetry is at once inspiring and uplifting. The day was sprinkled with calls from children, cards from a former student and friend and a visit from another friend.
How truly blessed I feel. To be living in a world with so many caring individuals is really a miracle. And to be able to share that world with those whom you love, whether distant or near, and not just on one designated day, is the greatest gift of all. For in this world, my wish is to love and be loved, to be good and do good – no matter how small the “doing” is. And – to quote Vicki – I will “practice being good at both giving and receiving.” Thank you, Vicki, for the opportunity and encouragement to do so.
