Blue is a color, a beautiful color, my favorite. I have blue clothes, blue glassware, objects painted blue, and even (this) blue writing paper. What makes us prefer one color over another? One food over another? One odor over another? I just don’t know, but I do know, I love blue!
But “blue” is more than a color. It can and does describe a mood, a “down” feeling, a feeling of sadness. Sometimes there’s a reason, sometimes there is none. But one must savor the moment, the hour, the day, and remember that brighter ones will come. The clouds will clear, the sun will return and with it hope — hope for a better today, a better tomorrow — for me, for my loved ones, for the world. A world with peace and abundance, kindness and caring, filled with all of the sparkling blue glass that will take the “blues” out of the blue … for everyone.
P.S. I’m hoping that there will not be singing of the blues post-election day by my much esteemed compatriots in the writing group! <grin>
