Leslie has led a charmed life. She grew up in a home in which education and music were cherished. She played the violin and dabbled at ballet and modern dance.
At 19 years of age, she left her home in N.Y.C. to enter the University of Chicago Medical School. Subsequent pediatric training in Boston and Washington D.C. was followed by her residence in St Louis where she met and married her beloved husband Bill.
After many years in academia in St Louis and Tucson, she retired from pediatrics and continues to edit a pediatric journal, read prodigiously, “tag” readings at the Poetry Center, and participate in LAH’s “friendly phone call” service and Writers Group.
Leslie and Bill have 3 children and 5 wonderful grandchildren.
