A beautiful ride to my daughter’s house. They were all there, the grandparents, the parents, and the young ones. Lots of hugs, handshakes and conversation.
The Thanksgiving prayer was said. Time to eat turkey, ham and a special BBG brisket, mashed potatoes, turnips, gravy, stuffing, all the veggies and rolls were on fancy plates. Not much talking, just pass this and pass that, please.
Clean up was quick. The dish washer, fold up tables, chairs, nothing to it. Dish up the leftovers for the guests. Not much in the way of conversation, just a few Uh huh, and belly rubs. Some ready for a snooze.
It was a perfect day as I walked out on to the sidewalk. I was kidding my daughter about her plastic flowers. We were all laughing. All of a sudden I was looking at blue sky. (I had fallen.)
