Rain

by Jim

I say every summer “if you want water turn on the hose” But this year we have got a lot of rain. After the thunder, lightning, and wind, the rain comes. It cleans the air and smells so good. The rain brings the nutrients-nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium to the earth.

And with all this comes the weeds, lots and lots of weeds.

Did you know some weed sees can survive burial for 40 years . One researcher recovered over 10,000 weed seeds one square yard of soil  10 inches deep.

Years ago in Mexico, they had a plant that was an eyesore or a weed called a zinnia. So I just remember:
“Weeds are just flowers that have not been named yet” !
