Little Black Dog
Sitting at the door,
Greeting all who come.
The water dish was full and nearby .
He must belong to someone.
He has a license, a collar, and a chip.
Greets everyone with a wiggle-and a look that says “Come on in”
Then he wiggles out to greet every car that drives up.
Fluffy black fur, so much fur we could hardly find the eyes.
Follow someone in. Visits every room up and down the hall. Never barks, never jumps. He must be looking for someone.
Flash! He does belong to someone. Every day he comes to work! He is a church dog! Never heard of one but it seems a great idea.
Someone really trained that dog to be a welcoming usher. I did feel welcome and sort of wish he were mine.
