“The dog may be wonderful prose but only the cat is poetry” – French proverb

By Elvira

Silently the Heart
hears a sound
Words couched;          no harsh noise
No Bangs.        No slams
making its way – brain to heart
to hand
Taking quill in hand —
silent, silent
No “Farewell to Arms”
“Red Badge of Courage”
only     “Faire Queen”
“. . . for whom the Bell Tolls . . .”
Soft – soft on padded feet
let Dogs shout
Felines find their pray
through stealth —
The star was bright
the poet speaks in whispers
Best sellers
are NOT
always
the
Truth.
