My Trip to the Country

I began writing this story on October 16th, 1996. Now, nearly 12 years later (almost to the day), I have decided to finish it. It is still a work-in-progress. Click on the links to follow the story.

Loved it, Ruth! I was thinking Bisbee–others might think Cincinnatti, but your description fits many home memories. The sensory descriptions take me back to calmer, more restful times when I was a child. The wonder of it all!

I love that you have returned to your story twelve years later. They always say that when you have a story inside of you, it stays with you until you finally sit down and write it out.

I have never been on a trolley like that.
I bet I would love it though from your description of how fast it went and how the wind blew in your face. What an exhilerating start to your adventure in the country.

I had the pleasure of visiting Ruth after the new year. We have been friends for four years and it was great to see her and catch up and hear her story first hand. Ruth is a remarkable woman always looking for new ways to keep active . She has a gift for storytelling and drawing the reader in. Love you Ruth and keep writing.
